The current SENTRI program is intended to facilitate the rapid crossing of the U.S.-Mexico border by pre-screened individuals. A policy analysis indicates that this program is under-utilized. Doubling or tripling the program would be necessary to reduce the burder on inspectors to the point where more detailed primary inspections would be possible. To achieve this a sharp reduction in fees must be achieved by negotiation with Mexico.

Why the contribution is important

It will reduce the need to continually re-inspect the same frequent border crossers who make up a majority of individuals crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. It will allow inspectors to concentration on individuals who might pose a threat.

You have a good idea, but don't you think we should cover the whole border first. It is my understanding there are parts of the border that are basically unprotected because of certain protections of wetlands. To add to this problem is the corruption problems with some of the border protection officers. What we need is a good leader, who will go to the border and clean it up of all fraud and abuse. A leader who will not be afraid of the drug cartels or be threatened to back down.
We need the cooperation of the Mexican authorities and we need to stand together in the fight of domestic terrorism. We need to have ZERO tolerance of any illegal dealings on both sides of the border.
