Advanced screening technologies are available now that can quickly and effectively scan cargo containers.  And sophisticated “smart” containers are available that can prevent tampering of cargo and accurately track cargo en route.  DHS should provide assistance in promoting the widespread use of these technologies in the supply chain.

Advancing these technologies will help achieve the goals of making the global supply chain more secure and resilient, protecting our ports, and reducing wait times at ports of entry for commerce.
