Mission Vision Statement:

It is the mission of the United States Homeland Security division of Counterterrorism and Domestic Security Management to provide continuous mobilization of the United States defense in deconstructing terrorism and preventing domestic attacks, preparing for disasters, and assuring the resillience of civil society. Protect the critical networks and functions that are essential to preserving a free and prosperous nation. Achieve active leadership in, removing barriers for, and providing incentives to keep the sustained engagement of the American people, in public, private, and non-profit sectors, with the alliance of our international partners, to ensure the delivery of a safe and secure Homeland.

Goals:

1. Counter terrorists and all assailants who seek to attack the United States.

2. Protect life, liberty and all inalienable human rights in the Homeland from enemy attack with unfaltering focus on protecting critical systems and infrastructure, both tangible and virtual, in assurance of the services they provide.

3. Identify and prevent illicit access and movement of dangerous capabilities and materials.

4. Team with the division of 'Preparing for, Responding to, and Recovering from Disasters' to share in the prevention of the loss of life and property from hazards by natural and human causes.

5. Team with the division of 'Preparing for, Responding to, and Recovering from Disasters' to foster a prepared, informed, and empowered citizenry and to engage a united commitment with all communities on the local level to persevere in the motives prescribed herein to secure the Homeland.

6. Build and sustain robust systems, networks, and multi-functional operations dedicated and secure in defending and managing the security of the nation, with the design to reduce risk and ultimately alleviate all critical areas of opportunity.

7. Team with all divisions, departments, and institutions dedicated to any or all sovereign states within our borders to ensure maximum attainable levels of readiness and proactive contingencies to rapidly respond and recover from any unpreventable state of emergency.

Why the contribution is important

It is important to include a 'Moral Connection' to those whom you will encourage to follow the mission. Without a moral connection, efforts and esteem to continue forthright, may jeopardize the goals. The goals must follow the outline of the mission to make behavioral sense.
